Renfrewshire Council, a local authority established under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 and having its principal address at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley, PA1 1JB, is one of 32 council areas of Scotland. Their Corporate Procurement Unit works to develop Contracts and procedures which achieve Best Value. The Corporate Procurement Unit also has a vital role to play in supporting the Employer to successfully deliver its overall strategy and achieve a positive vision for Renfrewshire Council’s communities.
As a Roads Authority, Renfrewshire Council is responsible for maintaining public roads (excluding trunk roads) and roads related structures within its area. Renfrewshire Council wishes to establish a framework comprising a series of Framework Contracts for Roads Related Maintenance Works with a number of suitably qualified and experienced Suppliers. These works and services include, but are not limited to;
- Carriageway resurfacing;
- Footway resurfacing;
- Carriageway defect patching;
- Footway defect patching;
- Surface treatment;
- Minor drainage;
- Traffic Management;
- Repairs, maintenance and improvements to roads related structures;
- Road Markings; and
- Minor Traffic Improvements.
The 2-year framework will be established in 9 Lots as detailed below. It is anticipated that 4 Suppliers will be approved for inclusion in each Lot but Renfrewshire Council reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of Suppliers per Lot as deemed appropriate.
Lot 1 – Carriageway Resurfacing
This Lot involves the resurfacing of sections of Renfrewshire Council’s carriageway network.
Lot 2 – Footway Resurfacing
This Lot involves the resurfacing of sections of Renfrewshire Council’s footway, footpath and paved area network.
Lot 3 – Environmental Network Improvements
This Lot involves the environmental improvement of Renfrewshire Council’s roads, footway, footpath and paved areas network.
Lot 4 – Carriageway Defect Patching
This Lot involves patching of sections of Renfrewshire Council’s carriageway network that are defective.
Lot 5 – Surface Treatment
This Lot involves surface treating sections of Renfrewshire Council’s carriageway. The works may also include, but not limited to, minor drainage, carriageway patching and kerbing works.
Lot 6 – Pre-Patching in Advance of Surface Dressing
This Lot involves carrying out pre-patching services in advance of surface dressing for sections of Renfrewshire Council’s carriageway network.
Lot 7 – Works to Roads Related Structures
This Lot involves the repair, maintenance and improvements of roads related structures within Renfrewshire Council’s boundary. Roads related structures include the road’s verge and any structure, whether permanent or temporary, over which, or tunnel through, the road passes.
Lot 8 – Road Markings
This Lot involves providing road marking services on sections of Renfrewshire Council’s carriageway network.
Lot 9 – Minor Traffic Improvement Works
This Lot involves providing minor traffic improvement works within Renfrewshire Council’s area.
