AM Bid Opens First Scottish Office in Edinburgh

AM Bid, Scotland’s largest bid and tender specialist, is pleased to announce it will open its first Scottish office in Edinburgh next week.

The award-winning company will be one of the first tenants in the new 40,000 sq. ft. WeWork facility when they take up residence at 80 George Street on Tuesday, October 1.

AM Bid celebrates its fifth anniversary next month and managing director Andrew Morrison says the time was right to establish a headquarters in the capital.

“We are five years old now, turning over nearly £1 million per annum and it seemed the right time to have a base,” said Andrew, who is based in North Berwick. “We looked at a facility in Midlothian but the city centre location in Edinburgh is hard to beat!

“We were impressed with the WeWork model, the community and vibe. The facility is set up to create a great working experience and also offers opportunity for collaboration with other businesses working there.

“Three out of four of our senior management team as well as all of our Board members are based in or close to Edinburgh. It is also where we have our largest number of staff – we also have staff in Glasgow and London. As the company scales, we may open offices in other locations in the future.

“It really feels like we have now grown up. Some of our team also want to work in an office for the development, collaboration, mutual support and social interaction that it will provide.”

There will be six permanent members of staff based in the new office, though that number could rise in line with demand for services.

The George Street office, which has a terrace with views of Edinburgh Castle, will be New York-based WeWork’s first venture into Scotland and its third in the UK after London and Manchester.

Founded in 2010 by Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey, it was one of the first flexible office providers of its kind and is known for its open-plan interior design. It now has more than 400,000 members in over 100 cities around the world.
