Social Enterprise Summit delegates to learn how to win Public Sector work through tactical planning tips

Recent years have seen a significant rise in the work and importance of social enterprises.

In order to explore how social enterprises can best contribute to economic growth and social welfare in Scotland, Holyrood Communications is set to host the inaugural Social Enterprise Summit event taking place on Tuesday 21st June in Perth.

Holyrood Communications has invited AM Bid Services Managing Director, Andrew Morrison to this prestigious event in order to share with the audience key tactical planning hints and tips to secure an increased share of public sector contracts.

Whilst the Scottish Government is proactively encouraging social enterprises to get more involved in public sector contracts, many social enterprises still feel daunted by the bidding process.

Andrew’s presentation will equip social enterprises with the necessary knowledge to bid for public sector work and de-mystify the application process through practical tips and guidance.

Andrew is set to share the stage with key figures from Social Enterprise Scotland, Highland & Islands Enterprise, Social Investment Scotland and Scottish Enterprise. Andrew will also take part in the panel discussion (where delegates can ask and address the key obstacles faced by their enterprises) alongside:

  • Professor Michael Danson, Professor of Enterprise Policy, Heriot Watt University
  • Rebecca McKinney, Social Enterprise Alliance Midlothian
  • Darah Zahran, Social Enterprise Manager, Scottish Enterprise
  • Ken Milroy, Chief Executive, Aberdeen Foyer

On speaking at the upcoming Social Enterprise Summit, Andrew said: “I am very excited about the opportunity of meeting social enterprises at next week’s summit. Recent changes to Scottish procurement legislation have been favourable to social enterprise involvement and engagement with the bidding process. I look forward to sharing practical information which will help them take advantage of these positive changes. I will be at the summit for the full day and accessible for anyone who wishes to discuss their bid-related questions with me”.
