Leading bid specialists, AM Bid Services, fought off strong competition at last night’s prestigious Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Awards to win ‘Best Performing Business (1-10 employees)’ after a highly successful year in 2017, which saw the company’s turnover increase by 73 percent.

The company won the highly-sought after award after impressing the judges with its impressive growth record after only three years of trading. Following such a successful year, AM Bid Services has recently expanded its team with two key appointments who have business development, bid writing and management expertise.

Peter Sharpe will continue to grow the company’s presence and secure contracts in London, the South East and overseas in his role as Bid Manager and Writer bringing with him over ten years of experience in tender and procurement roles. Gavin Cowan, former Team Leader at IBM, has also been appointed as Client Account Executive, primarily responsible for business development in addition to client servicing

The evening brought together high performing businesses from all over the capital. The award won by AM Bid Services recognises their consistent growth, backed by strong financial performance. The company operates across the UK assisting local, regional and national organisations to create award winning bids and proposals.

The company was one of only a few businesses shortlisted for three awards, also including High Growth Business and Managing Director of the Year for AM Bid Services founder, Andrew Morrison.

Commenting on the company’s success, David Gray Bid Development Director at AM Bid Services said: “We are all absolutely thrilled to win this award. The Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce has played an important part in our growth story and we’re delighted to receive this recognition from them, as the Best Performing Business of our size.

“I would like to pay tribute to all of my colleagues and fellow board members who have worked so hard to achieve this. Our team’s dedication and commitment to delivering consistent results for our clients is a key factor in the success and growth we have achieved to date.

“We look forward to the next stage in our growth journey and to continuing the work we do in helping our clients increase their bidding success.”

Non-Executive Chairman, David Sole OBE, added: “AM Bid Services has had a fantastic year which is testament to the leadership of Andrew Morrison and David Gray. In such a competitive market space, businesses have to go the extra mile to stand out from the crowd. I am confident of another successful year for AM Bid Services, and look forward to working with such a highly motivated team in 2018 to continue achieving 80-90% bid win rates.”

Congratulating AM Bid Services on winning the award, Richard Ellis Head of Membership at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce said: “We are delighted that AM Bid Services were crowned winners of the Best Performing Business (1-10) category. It is a great recognition of the work that Andrew and his team do in making the business a success.

“Well done and huge congratulations from all at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.”
